Horticulture in Ancient Egypt
Lecture Series w/ Dr. Steve

The ancient Egyptians were quite fond of gardens on both a personal and on a state level, just as much as we still do today. Gardens not only produced flowers and food, but they also enhanced private homes, added shade to public spaces such as major temples, and even beautified tombs, literally and symbolically. This presentation examines what we know, and how we know it, about aspects of horticulture in ancient Egypt and the amazing variety of resources such gardens produced.
