Medicine in Ancient Egypt, Part I” –did the ancient Egyptians understand human anatomy and did they practice medicine? The answer is yes. Outlined in detail on several surviving ancient Egyptian papyri, surprisingly complex, and perhaps effective medical procedures, uncannily similar to medicine today, provide intriguing evidence as to the skill level of ancient Egypt¹s physicians. Medicine in Ancient Egypt, Part II, The Dead Really Do Tell Tales” – did the ancient Egyptians understand human anatomy and did they practice medicine? The answer is yes. Outlined in detail on several surviving ancient Egyptian papyri, surprisingly complex, and perhaps effective medical procedures, uncannily similar to medicine today, provide intriguing evidence as to the skill level of ancient Egypt¹s physicians.

Part II of this richly illustrated presentation takes us behind the scenes on a modern archaeology dig in Egypt, where we examine several actual cases from Dr. Steve¹s recent excavations in the vast cemeteries adjacent to the Great Pyramids and Sphinx. Highlights include our discovery of ancient Egyptian human skeletal remains that display the successful treatment of serious wounds, as well as direct evidence of diseases still extant in humankind today.
