5/16 Shirley Jones – The star of musical films such as Oklahoma! and Carousel got her start as a complete unknown when she first auditioned for Richard Rodgers. She went on to win an Oscar for her role in Elmer Gantry, opposite Burt Lancaster, and then parked her career on TV as the mom in the Partridge Family. Her success on stage and screen are a wonderful story incontrast to the tragic personal life she endured with her talented husband, Jack Cassidy.
