Thursdays – Ethics in Modern Life

1/6/, 1/13, 1/20 & 1/27

11:00 AM/CH

Hosted by: Sarah Rosenson

The Golden Rule, the idea that we should treat other people the way we want to be treated, is one of the most famous ethical concepts.  It seems simple and obvious, but we will delve into its complications, strengths and weaknesses, with some concrete examples.  Because our nation celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in January, we will also discuss some of his fascinating ideas on ethics and helping other people.  And then we will explore the world of rationalizing.  Since all human beings are good at rationalizing, we won’t have any trouble coming up with many examples!
