Saturday – Richard Rubenstein and the Radical Response to the Holocaust
Hosted by: Spencer Szwalbenest
For almost 80 years, the Holocaust has come to define theological discussions for Jewish scholars, clergy, and laypeople. The question of “Where was God at Auschwitz?” has come to be a central question for our understanding of God and religion, and many theologians have sought to find a Judaism that makes sense for them in the context of this great tragedy. In these upcoming sessions, we will discuss key theological and philosophical responses to the Holocaust. No philosophical or Jewish background is expected. All are welcome!
