April 11: TRENDS IN 20th CENTURY ART
We all know and love traditional Art through the ages from Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo to Rembrandt. But the world changes and by the 20th Century we see artists going in entirely new directions. We will look at the evolution of Realism, Abstraction and Environmental Art.
April 18: FEMINISM IN 20th CENTURY ART
The Women’s Movement in the late 20th Century fostered a wave of women in the art world with a strong political message. It also heightened our awareness of women’s role in the art world throughout history. We will examine all of this!
April 25: ART OFF THE WALLS
The Post Modern Movement during the 1960’s and 70’ssaw the disintegration of formal parameters of traditional works of art. We will look at the transition from “Art on the Walls” to the new physical definition of art that goes from wall to wall, ceiling to floor, and even digital applications.
