Sundays – Art Appreciation

6/6, 6/13, 6/20, & 6/27
2:00 PM/CH

Hosted by: Professor Irene Sfakianos

Performance art is an artwork or art exhibition created through actions executed by the artist or other participants. It may be live, through documentation, spontaneously or written, presented to a public in a Fine Arts context.  Through a series of still images and film clips we will relive the emotional experience each artist is enacting! Great fun!

6/13 & 6/20 DIGITAL ART

Digital art is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process. Since the 1960s, various names have been used to describe the process, including computer art and multimedia art.

We will look at Digital Art from it’s conception in the ’60’s all the way up to present day technologies. This is an adventure into Orwellian Reality!

This is the first of s series investigating American Museums of Contemporary Art. We will examine the Whitney’s manifesto, their permanent collection, their past and present exhibitions, and their ultimate influence on contemporary art!   This is a visual feast!!!!
