The Lenni Lenape: were the indigenous people of the area which became Philadelphia. They are also known by their English name, “The Delaware.” They were displaced by the Quakers and other religious minorities that settled the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the 16th and 17th centuries. This program will look at their history, culture and the impact of European settlement to their tribe and land.
