Mondays – Expedition: Black Sea and Ukraine

The Black Sea and Ukraine have been at the center of world events for thousands of years. Throughout history, there have been waves of invaders whose objective was to control this vital link between east and west. We will explore what makes this area so unique by investigating the Ice Age, prehistory, Viking traders, Mongol invaders, Greek colonizers, the Byzantine influence, language, religion, landforms, the steppe,  trade, and modern developments as well.
