“I feel fully supported here and don’t have to worry about anything. That sense of security brings true peace of mind to both me and my family.”

Robert Richter, an Assisted Living resident, moved to Lions Gate three and a half years ago, and for him, the decision felt like the right fit from the start. He was looking for a community that reflected his values — and found exactly that here.

“Being Jewish, it was important to me to be in a Jewish community,” Robert shared. “My wife and I kept a kosher home, and my mother did too. If I went anywhere, it had to be kosher.” That sense of connection continues to shape his daily life. He attends Shabbat services regularly and appreciates being surrounded by a community that shares and respects those traditions.

Beyond that foundation, Robert says what stands out most is how supported he feels day to day. “The dining is wonderful and the care is excellent,” he said. “It gives both me and my family real peace of mind.” His daughter, Susan Romm, sees that as well. “As a family, we know dad is in good hands,” she said. “He’s in a great environment, and the staff is very communicative.”

Over time, Robert has built strong relationships with team members throughout the community — something he clearly values. “They’re attentive and always willing to help,” he said. “They really care.” That consistency and familiarity have made Lions Gate feel like home.

Staying active and engaged has also been an important part of his experience. Robert enjoys the wide range of programming available, especially the lectures. “The activities are hard to beat,” he said. “There’s always something going on.” He added that the lectures, in particular, help keep him mentally sharp and give him something to look forward to.

He also appreciates the opportunities to get out and enjoy time beyond the campus through organized outings designed for Assisted Living residents. Whether it’s a trip to a local restaurant, a show, or another nearby destination, the outings offer a change of pace while still providing the support and structure residents need. “They regularly have outings,” Robert noted, “so there’s always something to do or somewhere to go.”

When asked what stands out most about life at Lions Gate, Robert didn’t hesitate. His answer was simple and telling: “Everything’s taken care of.”
