Thursdays – SCHUBERT
6/11 & 6/18 @ 2:00 PM/CH
Instructor: Ira Miller
6/11 We will be discussing the Quiet Musical Genius of Schubert, featuring important Lieder, his Chamber Music, his approach to Piano Music, two of Schubert’s symphonies, and Schubert’s Legacy.
Schumann’s music brings the inner life to the surface — intimate, psychological, and shaped by his lifelong dialogue with literature.
6/18 We’ll look at how works like Dichterliebe turn poetry into musical consciousness, revealing emotion in layered, shifting perspectives. And we’ll trace how his innovations in piano writing and song helped define the Romantic imagination.
