The Health Care Center at Lions Gate Named One of the Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News and World Report
U.S. News and World Report, a leading expert in the evaluation and rating of health care providers across the country, recently identified The Health Care Center at Lions Gate one of the Best Nursing Homes in the Country for 2016-17. US News evaluated over 15,000 homes nationwide, across each state and in 100 major metropolitan areas. This year, just over 2,000 nursing homes earned the designation of a US News Best Nursing home.
Recognizing that several million Americans will spend at least some time in a nursing home this year, whether undergoing rehab after a hospital stay or as long-term residents, US Best Nursing Home ratings are designed to help potential residents and their loved ones navigate this difficult process.
The results of this report were based from ratings in health inspections, nurse staffing and measures of medical quality of care.
- Health Inspections encompass how well Lions Gate met health and safety standards for food preparation, infection control, medication management and other nursing-home activities in the latest three state inspections. Such inspections are conducted at least every 15 months.
- Nurse Staffing includes the average number of hours per day of care received per resident from nurses at all levels.
- Quality Measures looks at the percentages of residents who got recommended care such as flu vaccinations and percentages of residents who had pain, bedsores, urinary tract infections and other care-related problems.
