Thursday – Ethics in Modern Life
7/9 & 7/30 @ 11:00 AM/MR
Hosted by: Sarah Rosenson
In each of these sessions we will discuss a different ethical issue that has strong arguments on both sides. Our issues will be drawn from a wide range of sources and will cover a wide variety of topics but will always foster lively discussion.
7/9 We will talk about four scenarios from the New York Times Ethicist column, all of which involve some type of game, including pickleball and monopoly.
7/30 We will talk about ethics and prediction markets. A prediction market is a website or app where people bet money on whether something will happen, everything from whether a certain candidate will win an election to whether a certain company will go bankrupt. What could possibly go wrong?
