In August we’ll continue with “Poets and their Poetry.” In addition to the lives of 19th century poets such as Emma Lazarus (Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses…), and Ernest Thayer (But there is no joy in Mudville, mighty Casey has struck out) we will learn about “Haiku for Jews.” Bring a favorite poem or a “who dun it” by a mystery poet and stun the class with your erudition.
