Marty Tankleff and Jeffrey Deskovic were both 17, Seniors in H.S.: one at high school in Port Jefferson, NY; the other in Peekskill, NY. They were arrested and charged with murder after both gave a false confession.
Both were innocent. Marty was given 50 years to Life; Jeff was given 15 years to Life. We will delve deeper into these two parallel cases by watching “48 Hours “a TED Talk and a short documentary. On June 17th, I will present Marty Tankleff’s case. On June 24th, we’ll hear about Jeff Deskovic’s case. Both men are now lawyers. Both men were awarded large sums of money in compensation for their years in prison.
