10/9 CHARLIE CHAPLIN
The latter end of cinema’s Silent Film era was a tumultuous time for many reasons, and right smack-dab in the middle of it all was Charlie Chaplin. As one of history’s greatest rags-to-riches stories, Charlie fought his way into the film world and became known as a titan of comedy. However, his desire to make his films more realistic and topical led to significant backlashes, especially given his numerous other scandals.

10/16 GEORGE CARLIN
George Carlin went from clean-cut comic in the 1960s to the countercultural icon of the 1970s and spent the rest of his years being nothing less than his true self. Or so audiences thought. For all his brash language and risqué confessionals, Carlin was keeping ruinous secrets back home.

10/23 ALLEN GINSBURG
Before the sexual liberation of the 1960s, Allen Ginsberg was defying society’s expectations with his bohemian lifestyle and powerful poetry. He became known as one of the iconic members of the Beat Generation, along with Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, and several others. Together, they created a space outside of the status quo and inspired generations of countercultural artists. Read the facts below and discover more about Allen Ginsberg.
