This period encompasses an era of music that is normally referred to as Western Classical Music, which ran from roughly between 1650 to 1680, continuing to between 1890 and 1930.
4/10 We will begin with why Western Europe would become the home for this music, comparing music and scales in Europe to the music of other world cultures.
4/24 We look at the music and instruments from the Renaissance period and at some of the forms that would become the mainstay of classical music.
