In each of these sessions we will discuss a different ethical issue that has strong arguments on both sides. Our issues will be drawn from a wide range of sources and will cover a wide variety of topics but will always foster lively discussion.
11/7: We will talk about ethics and war, and what philosophers call “Just War Theory.” Then we will look at various wars the United States has been involved in in the past and ask whether they were each ethical.
11/21: We will discuss several scenarios from the New York Times Ethicist column, each of which involves a dilemma about whether to “tattle” on someone.
