12/12 I will introduce the notion of Jewish music’s influence on America’s popular music and focus on three Tin Pan Alley composers: Irving Berlin, Harold Harlen, and George Gershwin.

12/26 I will look at the story of Bei Mir Bist Du Schein and Dona, Dona, two pieces composed by Sholom Secunda, with a focus on how folk and popular groups of the late 20th century adopted Jewish music and themes
