11/12 Native American Lore and Beliefs of the Night Skies
In Native American cultures, the moon, stars and constellations hold immense significance. Each tribe has its unique interpretations of celestial bodies, assigning them specific meanings and associations. By observing the stars, Native Americans gained insights into the seasons, weather patterns, and the cyclical nature of time. Landscape Astrophotographer Pat Worley will feature her images of the night skies and share stories corresponding to the various celestial events she has captured. The program will wrap up with a glimpse as to how the dark skies have changed over time.
