6/24 Jack Cole: Known as the “Father of Theatrical Jazz Dance,” Cole is known to be the influencing force behind Bob Fosse, Jerome Robbins and Alvin Ailey. His work with Gwen Verdon and Mitzi Gaynor is legendary, and he was important in the combination of African-American Jazz Dance with conventional traditions that were popular on Broadway.
